In the initial stages we are able to confirm the validity of shareholdings, ensuring that all papers are in good order. Following this we will then be in a position to value the investments and provide an official probate valuation.
If the executors or administrators require us to register death or probate on shareholdings; or assist with additional administration, such as organising for the reissue of missing certificates, we will be pleased to arrange this ahead of eventual sale or the transfer of investments to beneficiaries.
We also understand that many beneficiaries are unfamiliar with stock market investments. We are therefore always available to explain and guide them through their options: this may involve selling stocks to reduce a potential inheritance tax bill, or establishing tax-free gains within the estate, to reduce the eventual tax burden on the beneficiaries.
